    Dr. Michael Conti School, also known as  P. S. 5, is a public school located in the downtown section of Jersey City. P.S. 5 was built in the early 1900’s. One of the first schools to be built, it has a fine reputation for academic excellence.  The school was named for Dr. Michael Conti, a medical doctor, who provided free medical service to the needy of the community.  His legacy serves as a model that inspires us to work as a team to succeed.

    Dr. Michael Conti Elementary School is a Bilingual Magnet School.  Our mission is to ensure that all children have equal access to educational opportunities.  We believe all children can learn.  Thus, we provide a nuturing environment where all children will grow, enhance their self -worth, and succeed academically.  We foster strong relationships with children, staff, parents, and the community.
